Simerock Open Air hits the Arctic Circle on July 6th -8th. On this party the sun never sets. Since the year 2002 the northern pride Simerock has been the most norhern festival!
Festival Area & Program
Simerock has just released its festival area!
Stages
There will be three stages playing music until midnight - Lapin Kulta Stage, Tivoli Stage and circle stage which name isn't yet been published.
Lapin Kulta Stage is one of the finest stages of Finland. The Arctic Circle needs the best!
Tivoli Stage is like its paragon, Cafe Bar Tivoli at Rovaniemi. Cafe Bar Tivoli has made its way to one of the most important venues in Lapland for bigger and also for underground bands. Tivoli Stage brings the same close but still glorious spirit to Simerock.
Circle stage which name hasn't been published yet is the biggest stage of Simerock. To get a right kind of circle stage - big and unique with good acoustic - we had to go to Sweden to find a one. This kind of stage has never been seen in Northern Finland!
Bars
There are three bars at Simerock which all are prohibited for people under eighteen: Simerock Grande, Simerock Paha Kurki ("Bad Crane") and Simerock Pikku-Grande ("Small Grande"). Rock Bar Grande and Paha Kurki are two legendary bars at Rovaniemi with rock n' roll atmosphere. The same kind of feeling you get at these bars at Simerock also!
Clubs
Simerock has released its club which is called Simerock Lapin Kulta Club (Simerock Golden Beer of Lapland Club) at it's prohibited for people under eighteen. Although sun never sets at the Arctic Circle you still don't get any light inside the club. That way it's going to be true club experience with endless parties! Shows start at the afternoon and they carry on even after the main stages have quiet down.
At clubs you get the best Finnish techno, trance, house, hiphop, drum ' base, rap and even jam sessions!
Mike's Monster Jam is the best known jam session in Finland! Mike Lynch gathers round him the best musicians to jam with - and you can join them too! If you look at the band list of Simerock you can see that there might be quite unique shows ahead. Come by yourself or even with a full band to jam with Mike and his crew!
For those not about to rock, you can put your feet moving! Trance and techno DJ's such as Ness, Bates, DJ Albert and DJ Billow will not hold you down! Also there are well-known and up-and-coming MC's giving all they got, such as Asa & Laineen Kasperi, Amoc and Rucce and Edorf & Ironface.
Other Info
At Simerock Camp you can feel the true festival athmosphere as you don't have to leave the area for entire weekend! Just make your own base-camp and feel the Lapland! Simerock has made it easy for everyone. You don't have to leave the area to go to grocery store because there is a festival shop where you can get some basic food and drinks.
Fresh yourself up in festivals shower area and perhaps take an adventure with a true Finnish experience: there are forest saunas available among the festival area. Taht's right, you may take a bath in the middle of Simerock Camp's Lapland wilderness in your provate sauna!
What could be better than spending the night with your friends at a campfire? Most of the festivals don't allow any fireplaces but beacuse Simerock's festival area is so huge and well desinged we can offer you Simerock Roihu - Simerock Fireplaces! Spend that night with your friends safe and fun. And don't forget to bring your dad's old acoustic guitar with you...
Nearly 60 bands at stages and nearly 20 bands at clubs at three days - it's going to be a true festival experience at the Arctic Circle! The sun never sets and party never stops!
